La parte más importante del aprendizaje de ese día fue no firmar mis trabajos con cera, muy complicado y si no vale la pena echar a perder lo importante por tratar de poner el nombre con pincel.
This is my first batik. My very first! When I was clueless about batik. It isn’t really pretty, but it was my first lesson and just because of that it deserves some respect. The design of the flower isn’t mine (it’s pretty obvious if you know my style). I must have taken it from a pattern magazine or something. The colors aren’t my favorites; I didn’t choose them they happened as the result of adding colors. That ugly brown! I like the halo around the flower though. This happens if you don’t wax the whole fabric.
I also learned not to sign my work with wax, it’s complicated and it’s not worth it. You can spoil the work with an ugly signature, especially if you don’t’ have a good handwriting and you lack the patience to practice and get better.
