Serie "Plantas" / Plants

I like making batiks on paper. The results are even more unexpected than on regular batik because there is no guarantee about the resistance of the tissue paper and I never know how the colors will react and if I’m going to like the craquel and the folds or not.
Once, a museum Director told me that batiks on paper were very delicate, and difficult to take care of and restore. But I don’t care too much about their future. I like them now, and I’ll keep doing them because I like the intensity of the colors, the dry paint drops that make the texture more interesting, the way the hot wax flows on the surface, and the fact that in the middle of the process it may break and I have to start all over again.
